One Hour @ UBC: The Costs of Commuting, Cities, and Covid-19
Tuesday, April 20th – 1:00pm to 2:00pm (zoom session)
In real estate, housing prices have long been tied to location, location, location. In recent years, premiums paid to live close to city centres have risen in cities throughout the world. COVID-19 has spurred a work from home revolution and has disrupted this paradigm. This lecture explores whether this revolution will endure, and the long-term effects on the desirability of living downtown as well as urban and suburban housing prices.
