Join us for this informative and timely presentation at
Legacy Senior Living.  Topics covered will include:

  • Alter Ego Trusts Trusts created after 1999 by a settlor who was 65 years of age or older at the time the trust was created, for which the settlor is entitled to receive all the income that may arise during his or her lifetime, and is the only person who can receive, or get the use of, any income or capital of the trust during the settlor’s lifetime.  We will cover their potential applications and benefits/costs.
  • Probate PlanningProbating a will generates personal and financial consequences.  We will discuss opportunities to consider in minimizing probate ramifications
  • Basic overview of certain deductions and / or tax credits that may be particularly useful for retired individuals living in independent / assisted living  residences.

About Our Guest Presenters:

David Badalucco, CPA, CA

As a Senior Manager in the Tax department, David is responsible for planning and executing tax engagements in the personal, not-for-profit and privately-held business sectors.


David has more than 10 years of public practice experience with full-time focus on tax matters. He has provided tax planning and tax compliance services to clients in private business, not-for-profit organizations and registered charities, estate planning in regard to income taxes, payroll taxes and commodity taxes such as the Goods and Services Tax and Social Services Tax

Professional qualifications and memberships

A Chartered Accountant (2007), David received a Bachelor of Commerce (2003) from the University of British Columbia.  He is currently a member of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia and the Canadian Tax Foundation.

Jason Moon, CPA, CA

Jason is a senior manager in tax services with 15+ years’ of experience in accounting and tax primarily focusing on tax planning for privately held businesses and high net worth individuals.

Jason has served clients in a wide range of industries including real estate, retail, construction and incorporated professionals.  His experience includes providing tax related advice and services such as:
